Gradient Lips Tutorial

Little lips, colored like a lollipop, and big eyes are the goal for every Korean woman and that’s why the gradient lips trend is hard to disappear: the finish, in fact, gives the illusion that your lips are small and cute. And it’s not a case that many people pair the gradient lips with a so-called “puppy eyes” makeup, to look cuter and innocent.

What are gradient lips?

It’s basically a technique where lips are slightly colored and where the color comes from the center of the mouth. It gives a younger look and an innocent one. But, most of all, it’s a great alternative if you want to achieve a natural look.

There are few ways to create a gradient lip, and all of them are easy and quick.

Gradient Lips Tutorial: Method 1

  1. Exfoliate your lips by brushing them with a toothbrush and warm water or by using specific products to remove dead cells.
  2. Apply your lipstick, glossy or matte, only to the center of your lips.
  3. With a lip brush or your fingers, blend the color outward. If you want to give your lips some glam, apply some neutral lip balm over.

Gradient Lips Tutorial: Method 2

  1. Apply a nude lipstick on your lips (a concealer is fine as well) to make the center of your lips popping out.
  2. Apply your lipstick, glossy or matte, to the center of your lips.
  3. With a lip brush or your fingers, blend the color outward. If you want to give your lips some glam, apply some neutral lip balm over.

Gradient Lips Tutorial: Method 3

  1. Make sure you’re using 2 lipsticks with one shade darker than the other.
  2. Apply the darker one to the center of your lips.
  3. Apply the lighter at the edge of the lips.
  4. With a lip brush or your fingers, blend the color outward. If you want to give your lips some
  5. glam, apply some neutral lip balm over.

The second method is definitely the more interesting ’cause in this way your lips will pop and it really looks like you’ve just eaten a lollypop, giving your appearance a younger and genuine look.

Trick: one you’re done, blot your lips to remove any oil and to make sure the color will last longer.
